China’s first testamentary trust with end-to-end registration

Project background

Shanghai Trust’s Xinrui · Zhenyi testamentary trust obtained initial registration with China Trust Registration Co., Ltd. A report republished by Shanghai’s municipal financial authorities on 17 December 2025 described it as China’s first testamentary trust to achieve end-to-end registration.

The report expressly identifies Mingyue Gao’s team at Guantao’s Shanghai office as a participant, working alongside Wang Xu’s team at Dacheng and the Hangzhou Internet Notary Office.

Project significance

The arrangement connects will execution, notarial escrow and trust services to support post-death asset arrangements and ongoing administration. The first-of-its-kind description refers specifically to end-to-end registration of a testamentary trust.
